Fifteen excellent scientists received the title "Doctor of Science" (abbreviated DSc.) at a ceremony on 23 May at the Library of the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic. This title, which has been awarded since 2003, belongs to outstanding scientific personalities as an expression of their particularly high qualifications. The award was presented to the laureates by the President of the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic, Eva Zažímalová.
