Filip Šroubek graduated in computer science at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering of the Czech Technical University. After completing his PhD at the Faculty of Mathematics and Physics of Charles University, he worked for two years at the Institute of Optics in Madrid. Thanks to a prestigious Fulbright scholarship, he then spent a year at the University of California, Santa Cruz. He is currently a senior scientist in the Image Information Processing Department at the Institute of Information Theory and Automation, Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic. He also lectures and supervises students at both of his alma mater.
