COURSE DESCRIPTION
The course introduces the fundamentals of surveying, with an emphasis on practical field measurements and basic geodetic principles.
Geodesy is one of the basic and at the same time oldest methods of measuring objects and phenomena on the earth's surface and below the surface. The aim of the course is to introduce students to the field of lower geodesy (surveying), its basic principles, methods and procedures of topographic and altimetry measurements. An integral part are the mathematical foundations of geodesy and teaching basic geodetic calculations. During the teaching, emphasis is placed on both the basics of theory and, in particular, on the practical mastery of basic measuring procedures in the field. These consist of topographic measurements (detailed measurements using a total station) and altimeter measurements (leveling).
