News and new findings in our field
Our department organizes weekly seminars for people interested in image processing and pattern recognition. The seminars are usually held on Fridays at 10 a.m. in room 45 of the ÚTIA building. Talks cover speakers' main research areas, novel results, and surveys on various topics. The seminar is an educational program for students at the Faculty of Mathematics and Physics, Charles University in Prague.
The Friday seminar consists of two parts that alternate each week – Speaker Presentations and Journal Club.
INTERNAL AND EXTERNAL SPEAKERS
Speaker Presentations
The seminar features speakers from both our Department of Image Processing and external guests. It also includes practice sessions for defense presentations.
DISCUSSION ON CURRENT ARTICLES
Journal Club
Each session is led by one of the members and includes a presentation of the paper and a thorough reading of it. A discussion follows the presentation. For the conversation to be fruitful, all participants must read the article in advance.
